Discover how ordinary objects can become extraordinary through dissection and reinterpretation of everyday material things. From this vocabulary, you will assemble and build clay sculptures using handbuilding processes. Investigate relationships among created clay objects, making groupings or sets to be used in finished sculptures. Explore alternative surface possibilities of textured surfaces, metallic glazes, layering glazes and multiple firings. There will also be an opportunity to make a two-part plaster mold. Handbuilding experience is preferred.
